Paavo Lipponen ’64 H’97

Former Prime Minister of Finland, Finland

Paavo Lipponen served as prime minister of Finland, 1995–2003, and chair of the Social Democratic Party of Finland, 1993–2005. He also served as Speaker of the Parliament of Finland, 2003–2007, and director of the Finnish Institute for International Affairs. He chairs two consulting companies and received a Doctor of Laws honorary degree from Dartmouth in 1997.
